Six women have a weekend tramping but after the first day have to remain in the hut because of heavy rain. Four of them are teachers, one is the school counsellor and the sixth a daughter of one of the teachers.

The play brings out their characters and relationships with the other women and finishes with them learning to cope with changes being forced upon them.
