Based on a story and Characters of Damon Runyon
Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser
Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows

Peopled by characters with names like Harry the Horse, Brandy Bottle Bates, Society Max and Angie the Ox. This musical includes songs such as “Sit Down you’re Rockin’ the Boat,” “Fugue for Tinhorns“, ” Luck be a Lady Tonight “ and “I’ve never been in Love Before.” A musical fable of gamblers and dolls, of high-rolling lowlifes and high-minded do-gooders, it is the love story of Sky Masterton (who’ll bet on anything) and Sarah Brown (who runs a mission to save gamblers) and of Nathan Detroit (the perpetually harried organizer of the oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York) and Miss Adelaide (the main attraction at the Hot Box nightclub) whose psychosomatic perpetual cold stems from having been engaged to Nathan for 14 years.
